Nature Environmental Consultancy provided comprehensive environmental and ecological consultancy services to support the rehabilitation and conservation of the Al Gurm mangrove area in Abu Dhabi following impacts associated with construction activities.
Nature conducted the required environmental, ecological, and site assessments to establish existing conditions, evaluate the impacts on the mangrove habitat, and provide the technical basis for the rehabilitation and restoration works.
Nature Environmental Consultancy served as the Environmental Consultant, providing the required technical studies, environmental assessments, rehabilitation support, monitoring, and auditing throughout the project.
Construction activities had affected parts of the sensitive Al Gurm mangrove ecosystem, requiring detailed environmental assessment to understand the condition of the affected area and establish the appropriate requirements for its rehabilitation. The project required a clear technical and environmental baseline to guide rehabilitation activities and ensure that restoration measures were appropriate to the ecological and site conditions.
Nature carried out the required baseline environmental surveys, marine ecological surveys, mangrove health assessments, and environmental assessments, supported by the preparation of the Marine Pollution Management Plan (MPMP) and Habitat Restoration Management Plan. Nature also conducted environmental monitoring and prepared auditing reports to assess compliance and the progress of rehabilitation activities. Our work provided the technical foundation for the environmental contractor to plan and implement the rehabilitation of the affected mangrove areas, while monitoring environmental performance and supporting the recovery and conservation of the ecosystem.
