Nature Environmental Consultancy served as the Lead Environmental Consultant for the construction and pre-operations phases of a luxury island development in Abu Dhabi, providing integrated environmental assessment, ecological planning, environmental management, monitoring, and auditing throughout the project lifecycle.
Nature Environmental Consultancy served as the Main Environmental Consultancy, leading the environmental scope and providing multidisciplinary technical oversight across the construction and pre-operations phases.
The project involved extensive development within a sensitive coastal and marine environment, requiring a comprehensive understanding of terrestrial and marine ecosystems, hydrodynamic conditions, mangrove habitats, and biodiversity. Key challenges included assessing existing ecological conditions, managing impacts from marine construction activities, relocating sensitive seagrass and coral reef habitats safely, and executing effective environmental compensation measures alongside the island's development.
Nature delivered a comprehensive environmental program covering baseline surveys, hydrodynamic studies, ecological and avian assessments, EIA, quarterly CEMP audits, MPMP, waste protocols, and environmental monitoring to ensure regulatory compliance. We conducted specialized technical studies to guide the safe transfer and relocation of sensitive seagrass and coral reef habitats, while designing an ecological enrichment and environmental compensation program to enhance habitats across both terrestrial and underwater environments. Through this integrated approach, Nature moved beyond standard compliance to provide environmental leadership, combining impact management, habitat relocation expertise, and long-term monitoring to embed biodiversity directly into the island’s lifecycle.
